2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) Wild Quebec Sumac
Pepper and salt
For the salad
300 g local cherry tomatoes, halved
2 local pink tomatoes, sliced
3 Lebanese cucumbers, sliced
60 ml (1/4 cup) fresh ricotta
35 g (1/4 cup) Patience Fruit & Co Sea Salt & Pepper Active Blend

Sumac is a spice that’s widely used in the Middle East, adding a welcome tang to all sorts of dishes. Bet you didn’t know, though, that wild sumac is grown in the Gaspé region of Quebec!
Here’s a simple salad to introduce you to this “local” spice, with cherry tomatoes and cucumbers topped with our delicious Sea Salt & Pepper Active Blend. Enjoy it with a scoop of ricotta cheese, as in the recipe – or try it as a super side dish for barbecued meat or fish.

Mix dressing ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.For the salad
Arrange tomatoes and cucumbers on a large plate or in a serving dish. Add ricotta and sprinkle with Active Blend and snipped basil.Pour dressing over salad and serve.
