Sushi-Style Dessert Bites with Local Strawberries

Ingredients

For whipped cream cheese

Half a 250-g package of cream cheese, at room temperature

15 ml (1 tablespoon) 35% cream

15 ml (1 tablespoon) maple syrup

To assemble

2 or 3 large whole-wheat tortillas

Our whipped cream cheese (above)

8 Medjool dates, pitted and quartered

Our Patience Fruit & Co Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Chococrunch Bites, roughly chopped

Local strawberries, cut into small pieces

Preparation time 5 minutes Portions 10 to 15 sushi-style bites

They look like sushi, but they’re not! This luscious dessert is as easy to make as rolling up a tortilla. We proudly present our favourite dish this summer: sushi-style rolls with local strawberries and dark chocolate and raspberry chococrunch bites.

The recipe stars those juicy berries we love so much at this time of year. No need to compromise on freshness or quality – in-season strawberries are exceptional, delivering fabulous flavour with every bite.

For whipped cream cheese

Half a 250-g package of cream cheese, at room temperature

15 ml (1 tablespoon) 35% cream

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients for whipped cream cheese in bowl of blender. Set aside. (Mixture will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days in a tightly sealed container.)

  2. Spread whipped cream cheese on half the tortilla. Place dates, chococrunch bites and strawberries side by side in the middle of the tortilla.

  3. Roll up the tortilla around the filling from the empty side to the side with the cream cheese spread, so everything sticks together nicely.

  4. Cut the roll into 2.5 cm (1-inch) slices to look like sushi. Enjoy!
