Ingredients

For the mint syrup:

80 ml (1/3 cup) water

80 ml (1/3 cup) sugar

Handful of fresh mint leaves

 

For the cocktail:

75 ml (2 1/2 ounces) bourbon

45 ml (1 1/2 ounces) mint syrup

30 ml (1 ounce) Patience Fruit & Co 100% Pure Cranberry Juice

Crushed ice

Fresh mint leaves

Powdered sugar for garnish

Mint Julep is a traditional and emblematic drink from the southern United States. There are those who claim that it inspired the mojito, which is so popular in the summer. We’ve updated the traditional base of bourbon and mint with a touch of our 100% Pure Cranberry Juice. You’ll want to savour it all summer long on a sun-drenched patio near you!

Steps

  1. For the mint syrup:
    Bring water to a boil in a pan over high heat with sugar and mint leaves. Turn off the heat and cool completely. Remove mint leaves.

  2. For the cocktail:
    Mix all ingredients in a shaker. Serve over ice in a highball glass, garnished with mint leaves. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Recommendations

The syrup will keep in the fridge in a tightly sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
