60 ml (1/4 cup) pecans, chopped
30 ml (2 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
125 ml (1/2 cup) Patience Fruit & Co Chococrunch Bites with Dark Chocolate & Chai Spices, roughly chopped
60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup or honey

It’s apple season! And what better way to celebrate than by enjoying the unbeatable team of apples and chocolate? This recipe takes the good old baked apple to a whole new level: straight from the oven, sprinkle with chunky Chococrunch Bites with Dark Chocolate & Chai Spices and let the topping melt deliciously. Yum!

125 ml (1/2 cup) Patience Fruit & Co Chococrunch Bites with Dark Chocolate & Chai Spices, roughly chopped

Preheat oven to 190ºC/375ºF.

Wash apples and use a corer to remove core and seeds. Make a circular incision around the middle of each apple so the skin doesn’t burst in the oven. Place apples in a shallow ovenproof dish.

Mix pecans and butter in a small bowl. Stuff apples with mixture. Pour about 60 ml (1/4 cup) of water into bottom of baking dish so peel won’t stick. Place baking dish in the middle of the oven.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until apples are soft.

Add 15 ml (1 tablespoon) Chococrunch Bites and 7.5 ml (1/2 tablespoon) maple syrup or honey to each apple at serving time. Serve hot so the Chococrunch Bites melt in all their glory.
